I pronounce Miss Lulu finished

Miss Lulu, acrylic 36x24, has been signed--that means she's finished. I hope. This image will be used for the Holly Springs NC invitations/announcements, a project which needs to be done this week. I'm not sure I like Miss Lulu looking at me with those scissors in her hand. Luckily, I don't have a beak.

She was a nice lady but the story got stuck in my head.

  1. Miss Lulu scares me a little bit...she's cut a hole in the fence and now she can get thru to me. I sure hope I don't have nightmares tonight. =) What a funny story to go with a nice painting. Her garb and her posture make me think of a character from Walton's Mountain.

  2. I was just scrolling through your blog (what can I say- I like you and your work) and saw Miss Lulu. She reminds me of someone I use to know- my Aunt Maude. Great aunt actually- lived on the family farm her entire life.

  3. In Buffalo Springs, we had some colorful characters. They're etched in my memory.
