Waiting

Waiting
My husband had more back surgery today; hopefully, it will alleviate some of his pain.  He'll be in the hospital for a few more days.
This drawing was done on a website a few years ago--and I don't remember the name of the site (Celeste had tried it and provided a link).  It was fun; lots of lines.
Waiting is much easier now with an iPad.

  1. Hey, Hallie! Hoping your dh does very well after surgery! Thanks for the mention...the website is the Scribbler. Lots of fun! Here is the link:

I love what you did...it does look like "waiting"!

    1. Thanks Celeste. I lost the link when we bought a new computer last year--I thought it started with a "z."

  2. I love what you did with The Scribbler!

I hope your husband is back up-and-at-em soon - and pain free.

    1. Thanks Don. I think he'll be up; at-em might take a while. Your latest painting for your brother's book cover is quite a surprise--you can do everything.

  3. Hallie, you have such a unique way with your art, your artistic eye. This is lovely and oh so modern!

    1. CrimsonLeaves--you'll have to try the Scribbler site--it's fun and gives everything a "modern" angular look.

  4. Glad to see you continue to explore all the possibilities with the iPad. Good luck to the patient and to you during his recovery. Technology and art can be a beautiful thing (just wrote the same thing on Eva's blog).

    1. Hi Robin. This was drawn on my old computer--can't use the site on the iPad; "flash" is required. I just thought this drawing fit my mood yesterday.

  5. I had forgotten Scribbler. Thanks for the reminder. Perfect "app" here; you look all tied up with spidery waiting. I hope being all wrapped up in your web heals the fly.

    1. Hi SamArtDog. Sometimes I move so little spiders could weave their webs around me. I think I'm a "heal thyself" kind of person--pity the patient. I like what you're doing with your new iPhone app.

  6. Hallie,

Hope Mr. Chairman does very well. I had a lot of pain when I got my recent tattoo, but it was worth it. He will be called Walking Tall when he gets out.

    In the waiting room,

    Tattoo Everette

  8. Hallie, wishing your hubby a speedy recovery and relief from the pain. I played the role of the waitee for 16 years -- it's not easy. That was pre-iPad days. Art imitating life -- challenging times can stoke creativity.

    1. Hi Mary. My husband had his first by-pass 30 years ago, sitting and waiting doesn't get easier. Of course, I'd rather be the waitee than the patient.

  10. I'm sending all best for your husband's back helaing well and strong and in the best time...can't rush the back.

Your image is capturing that hauntingly odd zone of waiting with such a poignant quality of 'been there'.

I wrote a book for care givers, illustrated with my paintings, if there is ever a time when you'd like a copy I'd be happy to send one along to you as my gift....it ain't as wonderful as an iPad..but it helps when we need to be on call.

  11. Thank you, Donna. I know about your wonderful book and will order it for one of us when that time comes. I'm more of a checker-upper-on, driver, and bandage-changer right now. I think his back is on the mend.
