Elder, iPadding
|
I ordered my first app--it took a while to find it on my iPad. Who knew it was hiding on another screen other than home. I spent two days reading about drawing/painting apps; most had comments about problems running on the New iPad. I'll be patient, but I just had to try one so I ordered Sketchpad for 99 cents. With a slider I can "size" my finger, then pick colors from the wheel--that's about it--no blending, no eraser, no zoom, but there is an "undo" button. This was fun, took about 30 minutes; I've always wanted to be loose with my drawing--this is definitely loose.
ho ho! this is really good! I am completely impressed! I love the title, "Elder ipadding"! I especially like that even though you look frazzled..you simultaneously look very amused.
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning it looked a bit like my husband. Then I added and the arms, widened the nose and it morphed into me (sort of). Really fun.
DeleteHi Hallie, Watch out! Drawing with the iPAD can be great fun! I do like your elder iPADing; very cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy, thanks for stopping by. You are right about iPads being great fun--maybe too much.
DeleteYou are having way to much fun! Step back from the iPad! :)
ReplyDeleteCarole--I definitely need to step back. It's the last thing I check at night and first thing I check in the A.M.
DeleteI so can relate to this pose! I was feeling just like this myself yesterday! Nice work with the iPad.
ReplyDeleteI felt like this all weekend when I was setting the iPads up.
Deletehow fun! You know you can email or print your sketches, but I always wondered how large an iPad sketch would print out without loosing resolution. will you print any of your sketches?
ReplyDeleteHi Robin. My printer is a Canon (new in December) and it's not one of those that's compatible with AirPrint. I can email
DeleteWho knew your own finger is the loosest tool? 'Member finger-painting? No wonder we were all world-class expressionists.
ReplyDeleteMost important, it looks like your having fun! Yay!!!
SamArtDog, I loved finger painting and crayons; then etch-a-sketching and shrinky-dinking with my kids. This has the same feeling--totally fun.
DeleteThanks Celeste, Peggy, Carole, CrimsonLeaves, Robin, and SamArt Dog. I do replies later--today is Art at the Y Day. (I'm taking the iPad and I'll try a different sketch app that I downloaded this morning--a free one.)
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Hallie! Your ipad painting looks like something I would have done trying to figure out the new blogger upgrade layout. These devices are all consuming--they will drive you crazy!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. I've been following your plight with your blog. It's unbelievable--I'd be so upset I'd be throwing things and cussing a lost (which never helps). Good luck on recovering what belongs to you.
DeleteGo for it Hallie! Loose works very well for you.
ReplyDeleteNow that you've started you will find it more fascinating than ever. It's going to be interesting following your iPad work.
I know you will love it.
LifeArtist--you're right. It's fascinating. When you and Myrna began posting iPad art, I wanted one!
DeleteAll that technical stuff can really drive you nuts, I think you illustrated that very well :-))
ReplyDeleteHi Jane. The technical stuff can drive one nuts but using a finger to draw and paint is amazing--I remember non-electric typewriters.
DeleteWhat a fun, humorous, drawing!
ReplyDeleteHi Raena. Humor definitely helps.
